Grass Valley Park sits on little Grass Valley Lake near the Lake Arrowhead Country Club, and it's one of the Arrowhead Lake Association's member amenities โ a gated park with picnic tables, a BBQ area, a children's playground, restrooms, and shoreline fishing (California license required). What it is not is a swim spot: the ALA's rules state plainly that swimming is not permitted in Grass Valley Lake, and watercraft โ kayaks, paddleboards, boats โ are prohibited too. Like the main lake's beach clubs, entry requires current ALA membership (deeded lake rights in Arrowhead Woods) or registration as a member's guest.
It shows up in search results and on maps looking like a public park; more than a few visitors have driven up to a locked gate. Save yourself the trip unless you're with a member โ and even then, bring a picnic, not a towel.
If you're not a member
Your actual options are covered on this site: Lake Gregory is about 10 minutes from here with a full public swim beach, and Green Valley Lake is the quiet option 25 minutes east. The full rundown of who can access Lake Arrowhead itself โ including resort-guest options that don't require owning property โ is on the lake access page.
